As of 18 October 2018, our new $50 notes are released in circulation. Colour, size and portraits remain the same while some exciting security features have been newly added. These include a clear window running from top to bottom of the note, containing a swan that ‘flies’ and changes colour as we tilt the note, as well as a green patch with rolling colour effect. The new banknote also incorporates a tactile feature for the vision-impaired community.

Our old AUD $50 notes still remain as legal tender.

The new $20 is expected to be issued in 2019 and the new $100 in the year 2020.
